Standing With Indigenous Communities
The remains of 215 children have been found at the former site of the Kamloops Indian Residential School. Our hearts are with all Indigenous people, especially the Tk’emlups te Secwépemc community, and all the communities that the children were from.
We are thinking of all the Indigenous communities and families across the country, as this news is a reflection of the much larger impact and trauma of residential schools on Indigenous people.
Orange Shirt Day is normally on September 30th to raise awareness about the residential school system and the impact it has had on Indigenous communities, however, we also encourage wearing orange this week in lieu of the news.

Wear an orange shirt Monday May 31st, 2021 in honour and remembrance of the 215 children from the Kamloops Residential school, and many more.
