Volunteer Facilitators Needed – Langley Kinship Caregiver Support Group
We’re bringing back in-person kinship care support groups in Langley!
Previously known as Grandparents Raising Grandchildren groups, our Kinship Caregiver Support Groups provide a welcoming space for grandparents and other relatives or close family friends who are raising children to connect with others who understand their experiences.
As we bring these groups back in person, we’re looking for mature, empathetic volunteers who are good listeners and want to help create a supportive space for kinship caregivers in their community.
For a glimpse into the kind of connection and support these groups can provide, watch this short video from one of our past Grandparents Raising Grandchildren group members:
We’re looking for volunteers who can:
- Create a safe, supportive and trauma-informed space
- Bring strong communication and organizational skills
- Commit to one year, approximately 3–5 hours per week
- Participate in our interview and training process
No previous facilitation experience is required. Training is provided through self-paced online learning and three live Zoom sessions.
