Supporting Kinship Caregivers:

Grandparents Day Picnic is more than a celebration, it’s a space to honour grandparents and shed light on the experiences of kinship caregivers, especially grandparents who are unexpectedly parenting for a second time. While raising their grandchildren, many are also managing their own health and aging needs, all while navigating financial challenges, and complex systems like MCFD and family law. Learn more about the children in Kinship care here.
If you or someone you know is a grandparent or other kinship caregiver, you don’t have to do it alone. Join one of our support groups or call our Kinship Caregiver Help Line to connect with an advocate who can provide information, guidance, and support.
Kinship Care Help Line
We offer a help line where grandparents and other kinship caregivers can confidentially speak with a trained advocate social worker about family law, child welfare services, family benefits, and other resources.
