Parent Support Services Society of BC Celebrates 50th Anniversary 

Vancouver, BC, Monday, May 27^th, 2024 – The Parent Support Services Society of BC (PSS) is thrilled to announce the celebration of its 50th anniversary. Since its inception in 1974, PSS has been dedicated to supporting parents and caregivers across British Columbia, promoting positive parenting and healthy family relationships. 

Over the past five decades, PSS has grown from a small grassroots organization to a leading authority in parent support and kinship care, offering a wide range of programs and services designed to meet the evolving needs of families. From parenting workshops and support circles to resources for grandparents raising grandchildren, PSS has remained steadfast in its mission to build stronger families and communities. “We are incredibly proud of the transformational impact PSS has had over the past 50 years. This milestone is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our staff, volunteers, and community partners,” said Jane Bouey, Executive Director of Parent Support Services Society of BC. “As we celebrate this anniversary, we remain committed to empowering parents and caregivers and ensuring that every family in BC has access to the support they need.” 

Throughout the upcoming year PSS will mark its 50th anniversary with events and activities throughout including a gala dinner, community outreach programs, celebration of Grandparents Day, and special recognition for volunteers and community partners who have played a pivotal role in the organization’s success. 

Key Highlights: 

Gala Dinner: A night of celebration and reflection, featuring inspiring speakers, entertainment, and presentation of the Bill McFarland Award for the Advancement of Excellence in Child Welfare.
